Google My Business Workflow and Protocols

GMB (Google My Business) is a highly effective tool for business to boost  local online presence and attract more customers. Here are some unique ways that businesses can leverage GMB for marketing purposes:

Steps of opening GMB (Google My Business) location:

Step 1. Create an email for a new location

Step 2.Create proxy on Gologin for new city

Step 3.Check if we have this location on the website

Step 4.Start creating an account

  • go to GMB  and make sure the group name is  Ungrouped  and click add business 

  • Then choose a single business

 
 

  • You should copy paste from a different location the name and  change the name of the city

for example : 1) Sure Lock & Key Locksmith - the new city name. 

2) SLK Services -  city name


 

 

 

 

  • make sure you click on create new business and not on the existing one.

 

  • Then choose the right service (SLK-Locksmith, UAD-Garage doors , A1DOORS -doors) and click next.(like it is shown in the picture)

  • You have to  choose mobile location  or storefront (physical location) only if you are sure, if you are not sure - ask Jacob or Allie. (the difference between them is that: the storefront is the place which one the customer can visit ,  mobile location is the place which one the customer can't visit.) If it's a mobile location – press No , if it’s storefront then press Yes. Click Next.

  • You should add the services area,by inputting only the name of the city  and state that you are registering this listing  and click next 

For example :

  • add the phone number you have just registered on Workiz, then copy paste the right website URL of that same city as it’s shown below 

  • To find the URL of this location – Open the main website Sure Lock & Key >Press States and choose the right one (You should press on the main website select State at the right menu on the top >and select)

> Click Locations and choose the right one

For example : We need Bronx, NY. You should click on this location – which is Bronx .

Then copy the URL of this location and paste it where it belongs. If there isn't a Location page for the city that we need, choose only the state and paste the URL of the State.(make sure you put a new task for SEO team to create a new page for that city).That will looks like this :

and paste it into the right place on the GMB click next .

  • Then add the full address of  the new location (including unite number)  that you have gotten and click next. 

  • Then add connect name company name and if sent to a tech’s house add also tech name and click done     (If it’s Sure Lock & Key – write it as : Sure Lock & Key DavidOr it can be the name of the technician who will receive  the verification code .)

Click Mail 

  •  You should skip all the following updates / questions and only after the listing will be verified you should  go back and update the info.

  • Make sure you inform  Allie or the office to call the tech or the area manager  and let him know he will be greeting a letter from google and he should open it and send you a picture of it with requested code .

  •  In case, video verification needed - please contact w/ Allie or Jacob and ask whom you can ask to do it.

from GOOGLE: Plan your video. In one continuous recording, include:

Your current location. To show your Google Maps location, capture outside signs, like your street’s name, nearby businesses, or the area around your business.

Business or equipment. To show that your business is at this Google Maps location, capture your operations. This can include things like stock for sale, branded equipment, marketing materials, and tools you use to serve your customers.

Proof of management. To show that you’re authorized to represent your business, capture your access to employee-only items or areas. This includes things like a cash register, kitchen, storage room, or non-sensitive business documents. You can also use your keys to open your facility.

On your mobile device, go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.

Tip: If you start verification on a computer, to continue on your mobile device, you can scan a QR code.

Tap Get verified and then Capture video.

Tap Start recording. Follow the steps and record your video.

Tap Stop recording and then Upload video.

Step 2: Wait for review

After you upload your video, we review it. Reviews can take up to 5 business days.

Step 5.Verification

Go to Google My Business 

  • At first, after you receive a code , you have to paste  the verification code in the listing you have opened by entering in to the listing, then search for the enter verification code as shown below.                                               Go to Info >click enter the code.Paste  the code there.  Make sure you input the code correctly as shown on the envelope 

  • click  Verify then Skip all the following items and then refresh the page and check if it’s suspended or not .

    -If it’s not  suspended :

    add all information  to look the same as the other listings. 

    move the listing to the right group by chasing the listing clicking actions then transfer business and choose the right group and save it. and follow the protocol of listing setup

        -If it’s suspended (it will look like this ) 

Click on the listing and go to info and find the suspended box.

Click Learn more. Find the headline : Fix a suspended profile. You should press Use our form . If it doesn’t work -press Contact us .

After you clicked -Contact Us : Press Let's get started : For the first item “Tell us what you need help with:”you have to put : Suspended listing 

Click Next . You have to skip the 3 item .Press “next step”

The next step includes the link of the specific location from the website .  You have to pick the right URL < if there is no weblink for the specific location , then choose  the weblink of the state  .(the same process that is for GMB Business creating)

And put the link into this place where it belongs . On the next item you have to choose the first one  answer. For the next you should click “Yes”

For the next item you have to put the email address : Input the primary email address as it’s shown in the notes on the bottom of this protocol.

For the next step you have to go to the listing and click  > info  ( Open the listing  page and go to the info and copy paste the URL from the top .)

Next item : 

Here you have to put the following text :

“Hi! I'm writing to inquire about our listing that has been suspended. We have read all the policies multiple times and we believe that our business complies with all the requirements and is eligible to be verified. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to proceed with this process. We appreciate your help in this matter and hope to see our business verified in the near future. Should you need any other documentation do not hesitate to contact us anytime. Looking forward to hearing from you.”

Click Next step . Then put the phone number (2035908942)-that’s  Allie + make sure that you change it to the USA +1 . After that make sure that you saved the reference number and added the listing city name to it on your private list.

You’ll receive an email in a few days – so you should check your emails every day for a response.

  • Receiving response

Check the right location or reference number (in email that you received) and put a task for Allie (including the location name and address to provide you with the documents that they are asking for ).

When you’ll receive the documents from Allie , you should reply back + ADD the documents and paste this text :

"Greetings! Hope you're well. Thank you for your response. We have sent a request to reinstate the listing (write a listing name). Per your request we are sending all the necessary documents (attached below). We appreciate the help in reinstating our listings and hope to see our business approved in the near future.  Should you need any other documentation proving our eligibility please let us know. Looking forward to hearing from you.”     

When you receive an answer from Support Team that has you resubmit the application follow this steps but if you got back a different email follow THE NEXT STEP 

The first for resubmit the  reinstatement  will be the same as below here :

You should press fill out the REINSTATEMENT REQUEST FORM .

You have to fill the following questions like this:

For the question “Do you conduct face-to-face business at your location ?”*If it’s mobile location this one answer -No

*If it’s storefront location the answer Yes

The next steps : ( fill the info )

The name of the business and Emails : It depends which business it is .

If you can’t find the URL for the location > go back to the first GMB reinstatement above and follow the steps on how to find the URL for the GMB listings.

The next step. You will receive a letter , which will looks like this :

 

after you receive an email from support team of GMB , you should send the appropriate documents + paste the following text : (as shown on page number 19 receiving response)

“Greetings!

Hope you're well. Thank you for your response. We have sent a request to reinstate the listing Sure Lock & Key Locksmith -(name of the city). Per your request we are sending all the necessary documents (attached below). We appreciate the help in reinstating our listings and hope to see our business approved in the near future.  Should you need any other documentation proving our eligibility please let us know. Looking forward to hearing from you.”

1-Ungrouped - were you will be opening new listings 

2-SLK BULK  - is listing w/ physical locations

3-SLK SAB - is listing w/ mobile locations

4-UNVERIFIED - is all the listings that are suspended or waiting for the requested code.

Step 6. Transfer Group for GMB 

When you open a new GMB business listing or if you need to move a listing from one account to another account(different Gmail account) you have to do it by following steps:

(If you are opening a new business, skip the group transfor.)

  FOR GROUP TRANSFER : 

  • choose the listing by clicking the check box

Like it shows on the picture.

  • click action's button at the right side

  • click on transfer
  • choose the group you will want to transfer to and click transfer.

  • FOR ACCESS  SHARE OR TRANSFER: (giving access for the users to manage the listings or the group )

open the right GMB group 

After that click on the name of the business listing 

search for MANAGERS  (on the left side of your listing)

add  user’s email of the user you will like to add (only users with company gmail’s are allowed)

give proper access to the user (SLK must be the primary owner) , if you’re transferring the listing to a different account because of any mistakes that were made while opening the listing you can give access as a primary account owner . If it’s only for editing, give a manager access.

check the right email from which you have added a new business and click invite then make sure that the person you invited got the invitation email . Be sure  the person that you gave access to clicks the link on the email
